"I get what you are saying, Irons, but it was just a wink and a nudge from a shaft of light coming from the sky and full blown Rapture."

In Jax's mind it was.

I had to google 'Vic Mackey'...Never watched the Shield so that one passed me by.

I get what you are saying, Irons, but it was just a wink and a nudge from a shaft of light coming from the sky and full blown Rapture.

I was hoping that by acknowledging the fact that he was a 'bad man' that he was going to go out in a Butch and Sundance style. No redemption, no pretence about being Christ-like, just an honest to god gunfight...

Some how it doesnt feel finished....and then there is the Evil kid playing with his own 'SONS' ring giving an evil look....That kids will be trouble

One more thing on the sacramental stuff.

So Jax obviously see himself as a Christ figure, sacrificing himself for others. The first bread and wine is not sacramental per se, it his last supper by proxy, while the blood and bread is of course.

However, it is so heavy-handed that Sutter is mocking Jax's belief that he can redeem anything in comparison to the evil has caused.

Again the more I think about it, the more I like and respect it.

"By going in to that lorry, he has committed another man to the misery of having to deal with his splattering death. (Was that Lorry driver the same one that Gemma (Spits) got a lift with ?)"

Of course it was. It was the regular joe version of Vic Mackey. Remember its the same universe, 19ers, Latin Kings etc. (That can get really interesting if you consider what Vic got away with. Making this alter ego pay for sins he did not commit. Milo means merciful as well.)

The more I reflect on the ending, the more I like it. Sutter did what he wanted and wrapped what he wanted. He has had some moments of subtlety in the series but really bashed you over the head with symbolism in the final. I can't accept that wasn't a concious choice.

Dunno what to make of that...

I think I'd rather have gone out in a hail of bullets going toe to toe with Marks.

The Club going along with the mock mayhem shooting made no sense. I know it was done to add drama to the spectacle but real people dont do that shit...Mid you that could be said for the entire show

By going in to that lorry, he has committed another man to the misery of having to deal with his splattering death. (Was that Lorry driver the same one that Gemma (Spits) got a lift with ?)

The Bag lady...Fucking hell, If you hadnt sussed it before, this episode would have provide no closure really, Jesus, Guardian Angel or Death itself..who the fuck knows. The heavy handed and obvious Bread and Wine metaphor, a sacrament, before killing Marks was weird and made very little sense.

The Ravens eating a bit of 'bread' on the road as the 'Blood' joined it combined with his crucifix pose as he went in to the truck was a bit silly too....This was no redemption. He cleaned up his own mess and then killed himself.

In hindsight, the club, his family and the entire state of Cali would have been much better off if Clay Morrow had stayed in charge.

The series as a whole is the story of a would be king retaking his fathers crown and fucking everything up....

Like having a go on an old refurbished Harley, I have enjoyed the ride but Im glad its over

So long SOA...

I lost count of the amount of murders in that final season.
Must be some sort of record.
Loved the show, the final season was a bit mad and ott but it was good series to bring it all to an end.

Loved SOA, but the police must have agreed beforehand to escort Jax to his death or they could have got him before first bend in road, those old Harley Knuckleheads are not the quickest bike ever made.

Bell, I assume because the club had reluctantly voted that Jax meets Mr. Mayhem that it has to be them that do it. They make an excuse to the other chapters so that Jax can go the way he wants.

Spoilers if you haven't watched the finale.

..

Gutted it's ended. Loved it since day one.
Why bother with the lie about Jax escaping the club, if he was just gonna do what he did?

What a spoiler.

I think Sutter definitely went the other way than The Shield or even the Wire and especially the Sopranos. I think it was overly wrapped up on purpose if that makes any sense.
